Yes, you will have 3 TLs during 2010/11.

Istana Negara - The scent of horse droppings was in the air

Dataran Merdeka - things got messy here.

1945 hours: TL Iqbal fell in the troop in the quadrangle.  PLs proceeded to give attendance reports.  Once done, TL Iqbal and TL Khai Hsuen inspected the boy scouts‘attire.
1955 hours: The boy scouts broke off and formed a double horse shoe in front of the porch as it was raining.  TL Iqbal, Miss Shanti, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and TL Khai Hsuen gave briefings on safety precautions.
2005 hours: TL Iqbal told boy scouts that the master clue was ‘29G7’.  The boy scouts broke off and went off to find where it meant.
2030 hours: After thinking, all boy scouts went to the new bengkel KH as it was the site for the scout den which burnt down on the 29th of July 2007 meaning 29G7 is the date.
2050 hours: PL Dev found the clue hidden in the grass and fell in Eagle Patrol to begin solving the clue.  The clue was decoded as ‘VEENOTH’, meaning SS Veenoth will be Eagle’s shadow.  Eagle received their first clue from SS Veenoth and began solving it.  The message was ‘GERAI SANTANA’, which once jumbled up is ‘Istana Negara’, so PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and headed to the front gate.
2110 hours: Once all patrols gathered at the front gate, everyone departed to Istana Negara.
2204 hours: Eagle patrol arrived at Istana Negara.  PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and the boyscout began to find the clue.  Rct. Nadhir found the clue in front of some stairs.
2210 hours: The clue was opened.  PL Dev read out the clue while Rct. Chooi wrote down the information.  The clue was about the contractors of KLCC.  Once the clue was solved the message read ’Seven Three One’, which meant 31st of July, the Heroes’ Remembrance Day, leading to Tugu Negara.
2239 hours: PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and then led Eagle patrol to Tugu Negara.
0001 hours: Arrived at Tugu Negara.  PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and later Rct. Chooi found the clue under a big boulder.  The clue was about the school’s headmaster and the founder of the swimming pool.  After solving it the message read ’Pee in Crates’, when jumbled up became ‘Rest in Peace’, meaning the Cemetary.  PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and Eagle patrol left the place.
0029 hours: When leaving, SS Veenoth told that the base had changed to BP House.  So Eagle patrol rushed to BP House.
0052 hours: Arrived at BP House.  PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and the boy scouts began finding the clue.  It was found in QM Eashwar’s pocket.  The clue was about the football teams.  After decoding the message, which was Monkey’s Grail, it meant Dataran Merdeka.  PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and Eagle patrol went to Dataran Merdeka.
0146 hours: Eagle patrol reached Dataran Merdeka.  PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and found the clue in a plastic bottle.  The clue was about the show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.  The message was ‘FIVE PILLARS’, so PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and Eagle patrol ran to Masjid Negara.
0213 hours: Once arriving there, PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth.  The clue was found under some flowers planted below some holy words.  PL Dev opened the clue and found out it was about Greek Gods.  QM Eashwar provided the information as Eagle patrol solved it.  The message read ‘Lidless Zone’, so Mid Valley was the next destination.  PL Dev reported to the shadow and Eagle patrol began walking to Mid Valley.
0334 hours: After a long walk, the boy scouts took a rest by refreshing themselves at the Mid Valley café.
0340 hours: PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and PS Nabil found the clue under a ‘No Entry’ line.  The message was opened and PL Dev fell in the boyscout to solve the clue.  The clue was about the writers of popular books.  Once the message was read as ‘Nine Three Quarters’, PL Dev knew it was KL Sentral, for that was a platform name.
0417 hours: PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth and Eagle Patrol continued the journey to KL Sentral.
0457 hours: Upon reaching KL Sentral, PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth.  The clue was found by Rct. Chooi in a hose.  This time, Beethoven and Mozart made the clue’s story.  The message came out as ‘Twitter’, and Bird Park was the place.
0534 hours: PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth.  SS Veenoth told Eagle to head to Muzium Telekom as the base had changed.
0610 hours: Eagle patrol reached Muzium Telekom and PL Dev reported to SS Veenoth.  PL Dev found the clue tied to a flagpole.  Eagle patrol began solving the clue.
0730 hours: The message was ‘Gratias Deo Agere’ which was the school’s old motto, thus leading to VI.  Eagle patrol grouped up with Tiger and Hornbill patrols and headed back to school.
0800 hours: Arrived at school.  All boy scouts took a short break while waiting for the troop fall-in.
0845 hours: TL Iqbal fell in the troop beside the Open Hall.  He announced that the message was ‘Engagement’.  Boy scouts broke off and went off to find the place.
0920 hours: Engagement meant the two basketball rings in the basketball court.  There, a paper which said ‘P U P’ had been stuck on one of the windows.  ‘P U P’, once jumbled up was ‘PPU’, meaning Pendidikan Pra University.  So, everyone went to the Form 6 Block.
0940 hours: At the Form 6 Block, everyone searched the area for the Treasure Hunt plaque.
1005 hours: Finally, PL Dev found the plaque behind the archery target board.
1015 hours: The troop was fell in at the area behind the Art Block.  TL Iqbal announced the Unofficial winner for Treasure Hunt is Eagle patrol.

50th POST - Treasure Hunt Officially Confirmed

Treasure Hunt is on the 7th and 8th of June.
During the holidays.
Around KL.
At night.

The Seniors have done a lot of preparation - especially getting the permission - so the least we can do is to give a proper attendance during the agenda.
Permission letter will be handed out tomorrow and you MUST hand it back by Friday.

Bikes are almost settled with only a few more to be fetched by PL Erwin and PL Surendar, and still there's 2 to be gotten.
All the bikes should be there by Friday.

Here's the sneak peek of TH:

Song - Hunt - Exam - Days...

Treasure Hunt is right now decided on the 7th and 8th of June- During the holidays.

Meanwhile, the week has been a busy one, and still is, as the exams are going on. The Form 3s are at the edge of it, but since the First and Second Formers just begun, take this as a study lift.

However, there has been those charismatic boy scouts who stayed back for other stuff. So far, they have done a good job out of the following activities:

  • Solving real Treasure Hunt clues
  • Physical at exercise spot
  • The Green Wall
  • Runs around school
  • and getting the bikes..

That's all the update. The blog song has changed again
(Empire State of Mind).

It is still on..

Treasure Hunt - Postponed - Next week

Reasons

  • No approval from GPK Koko
  • Not enough bikes

The GPK Koko would most probably approve in the future, but that is the hands of the school administration.
The second reason as stated above is the problem.
Put it this way - If Treasure Hunt was approved, and no bike - What's the point?

We need 12 bikes.
So far there has been three bikes gathered - and one of them was an old bicycle and the chain was all broken.

As I've said before, if it's broken it can be repaired. We'll repair it for you.
I took that bicycle down San Peng and got it mended and now it's good to ride.

FYI Form 2s, the shop is just down the San Peng road from the Shell Station.
So if you borrow us the bike, you get a free repair for it when you get it back.

DOWN, UP! DOWN UP! RUN! RUN! RUN!

    No, it's not Commando Comp...

Since Treasure hunt is next week, several boy scouts have decided to train up their physical needs last week.
As I am posting this, that usually means I have a few graphic events I want to show:

    MOTOR! (One Man Invisible Chair)

    Before...

    ...after

    No Pain, No Gain..

Smile even when it's not appropriate..

    Three Man Invisible Chairs
    Gempak.

    Tak Gempak.

Guess the Treasure Hunt pressure begins bit by bit...

     EPIC SPORTS DAY
    Fantastic Colours of VI

Thanks to the Facebook pages of Rct. Chooi and a certain Form 5 from VI, I have got hold of several pics of the day. Sadly, I have not found anyone who has focused the pics on our troop. Our pictures are in the form of the whole picture - ALL & EVERYONE

The Troop between YKS and KRS

    It rained.....

    ....and this happened.

Nevertheless, whatever the weather, wherever the land, however the spirit, the will for a hakka still triumphs!

Although it hasn't been announced, it's safe to say Loke Yew is a definite Champ this year.

HURRAH! marching all the way! yeah!

After just less than a week after Kem Perdana's over, the Sports Day marching was around the corner. And after 3 days of training, our efforts were repaid in the form of a hamper signifying our 3rd place victory.

    Hey, it's a win nevertheless.

Just so it won't be forgotten, here's several of our sports day positions -
    2007 - 3rd
    2008 - 2nd
    2009 - 1st
    2010 - 3rd

Well, that's about it. The Victory was celebrated with 3 buckets of your extra crispy & crunchy KFC, and not forgetting the hamper of course, which will be opened on the next troop meeting.

As usual, I have not gotten any photos on my hands yet, but once I get it, u know where to find it (yes, for kem perdana too)

I'm also giving here a early notice that on the 14 and 15 of May, Treasure Hunt will be held, so BE PREPARED.

Based on the title itself, it is marching season once again as Sport's Day is literally just around the corner- Saturday.
The trainings have started and if you do your best and commit yourself to attend the training, the efforts would surely be paid on the day.

Form 2s, you have been given the task to get the cordials and Imran (Hornbill) will be borrowing his tumbler. Make sure you get the drinks done by getting the water + sugar water + ice from the canteen.
