inform your parents.....NOW!
For more than 3 weeks there were no Saturday agendas, so on the 6th of February there will be one, but i am not officially announcing it here on the blog. Clue : food and fire
Well put that aside first. What I want to tell you is to remind your parents' about the Parents Meeting on
Saturday (6th of February).
I told you this on the previous troop meeting, so don't come and say it was short notice.
This meeting is utmost important for the Seniors to explain the troop's activities and getting the support of your parents.
The meeting would most probably take place in the hall but I will confirm the venue in future posts.
Till then,
wait for the 'FOOD & FIRE'....

SQUARE LASHING and the counter hits' results
OK, since the counter has increased more than 60 hits in just 2 hours after i explained to all of you to visit this blog, i can conclude that there are many people who have read the stuff i post here...
here is today's piece of knowledge I'll share:
the square lashing ; step by step revealed
square lashing is used to tie two wood at 90 degrees at each other.
to start it, first make a manok (clove hitch) on one of the wood
it should look like this
now start lashing to the other wood
there is a step after you make the square, if you notice the pic above, there is a few circles of rope tightening the rope between the wood . this method is called FRAPPING and it secures your lashing so it will not move at all.
to end a square lashing make a manok again on the opposite side of the first manok.
and if you do this correctly, here's the result

Know your seniors and their names
During my last post, I was planning a guide to know the seniors for the form 1s who have missed them during meetings. Here are the Form 5s
From left:
SPS Chiang Ren Pei (SPS of Guy Gibson)
SPS Sujev Kumar A/L Dev Kumar (SPS of James Cook)
TL Muhammad Iqbal Lutfi bin Ramli
TL Ng Khai Hsuen
SPL Daniel Hafiz bin Kamaruddin (SPL of James Cook)
SPL How Han Ming (SPL of Guy Gibson)
Form 2s and Form 1s, if you still hadn't known the Form 5s full names, now you have no reason as you can refer here.
Make sure you respect them and greet if you meet them during school periods.

no agenda.... but you have a task
Boy scouts, there will be no agenda or meeting this Saturday as it will be a schooling day.
I hope you will spend this time to know all the senior's FULL names and learn a thing or two about knots.
here's one example:
the reef knot
used for joining ropes of the same kind,
ending a bandage
and tying a parcel or box
you can find the seniors' and PLs names at http://victoriascoutgroup-2ndkl.blogspot.com/
I will post up a guide to knowing which name is to which senior soon.

2010 is here..
Welcome to all the Form 2's who have been installed into their permanent patrols, especially to Eagle patrol members.
I hope that this year you will gain much more experience as well as teaching the form 1's what you have learned throughout 2009. Make use of the skills you have and keep excelling in the troop.
Do remember to keep on recruiting new form 1's although the Recruitment Drive is over.
If there is anything that you need to ask, contact the PLs for info.
