inform your parents.....NOW!

For more than 3 weeks there were no Saturday agendas, so on the 6th of February there will be one, but i am not officially announcing it here on the blog. Clue : food and fire

                  PARENTS'                           MEETING

Well put that aside first. What I want to tell you is to remind your parents' about the Parents Meeting on
Saturday (6th of February).
I told you this on the previous troop meeting, so don't come and say it was short notice.
This meeting is utmost important for the Seniors to explain the troop's activities and getting the support of your parents.
The meeting would most probably take place in the hall but I will confirm the venue in future posts.

Till then,
wait for the 'FOOD & FIRE'....

SQUARE LASHING and the counter hits' results

OK, since the counter has increased more than 60 hits in just 2 hours after i explained to all of you to visit this blog, i can conclude that there are many people who have read the stuff i post here...

here is today's piece of knowledge I'll share:
the square lashing ; step by step revealed

square lashing is used to tie two wood at 90 degrees at each other.
to start it, first make a manok (clove hitch) on one of the wood

it should look like this

now start lashing to the other wood
click the pic above

REMEMBER SQUARE LASHING FORMS A SQUARE AS BELOW:

there is a step after you make the square, if you notice the pic above, there is a few circles of rope tightening the rope between the wood . this method is called FRAPPING and it secures your lashing so it will not move at all.
to end a square lashing make a manok again on the opposite side of the first manok.

and if you do this correctly, here's the result

Thursday's the day this week!

Boy scouts, this week there is sports house and sport practice so you wouldn't be able to make it on the Wednesday as planned.

However, the troop meeting will be held on the following day, Thursday.

Make sure you come as the attendance is compulsory as usual. There is more to learn and each troop meeting is important to ensure your progress in the troop. As a boy scout of VSG, I expect you to come for all meetings without excuses and unacceptable reasons.

ending a bandage
